Get the best dimensional accuracy thanks to stereolithography

There are different technologies that are implemented in the rapid prototyping, everyone with its distinctive characteristics. Consequently, every time we need to evaluate the one that better suits the requests. For this reason, advice from technically prepared companies such as PARTEC is fundamental to produce perfect prototypes that really meet the requests made.

Among the rapid prototyping technologies we have, there is stereolithography (SLA): an additive technique that allows obtaining prototypes with a process tolerance of ±0,15mm. An epoxy resin is solidified layer by layer through a laser. Stereolithography is the technique most precise in the whole world of prototyping: aesthetic results achieved are amazing and dimensional accuracy is exorbitant. In addition, it is the fastest methodology currently present on the market to get a physical model.

Realization process always start from the CAD project, which gives all the necessary information to the machine to realize the 3D model. Every single piece is then carefully analysed by our software to understand what the necessary supports are.

At this moment, realization can start. Stereolithography machine is composed by a tub full of photosensitive epoxy resin, which polarizes when exposed to light.
Just below the fluid level, there is an orifice plate (platform): a laser beam is projected by a system of mirrors so that the surface of the liquid is scanned and modularised to build the first section of the object. Finished the first level, the plate lowers a little and a second scan is performed so that the second section is generated. The process repeats itself until the end. Once the process ends, supports are removes and made in a UV oven, where ultraviolet rays stabilize the resin solidification.

PARTEC has a huge range of resins, good for every kind of prototype. Furthermore, such a technology is good for dimensional accuracy, given the precision levels that can be achieved.

The resin CLEARVIEW with opal colour can become perfectly transparent if finished with special painting.
The resin X-TREME with grey colour has a high impact resistance, a high elongation at break and an excellent level of detail.
The resin ACCURA is perfect to have high flexibility.
The resins PEKK and PERFORM resist to high temperatures and are useful for medical apparels (PEEK) and aviation and automotive products (PERFORM).

As previously said, SLA is an additive technology that build the product from scratch layer by layer, so that every kind of geometry is possible.

Since 1999, PARTEC supports those company that want to shape their ideas in winning projects.
