How PARTEC manages quality: ISO 9001 and ISO 9100

Due to the different national norms and the huge amount of companies in the whole World, a firm would be in trouble in finding a secure, capable and reliable partner if there were no international system that establishes standards and norms that transcend state boundaries.

Certification systems respond to these needs. Companies voluntary undergo quality certification processes to assert their process quality and other processes specifically linked specific aspects linked to the sector they belong.

Such verifications are implemented following certificated test protocols and must reach pre-defined standard: the whole process is led by a third entity external to the company involved, to guarantee the impartiality evidence.

At the end of all the required verifications, the company gets a certificate that testifies all the requisites of the regulatory framework are achieved. The certificate is associated to a code that can be checked on the Internet website dedicated.

However, the certificate has no permanent validity: it must be constantly renewed. A third entity periodically checks the company meets the requirements imposed by the law and verifies that additional rules are respected, too. Another interesting element is the possibility to get spot checks to detect liars.

The most interesting organisation in the certification field is the International Organization for Standardization, also known as ISO. ISO has codified more than 22.500 technical norms that are shared by 164 Member States (but are generally positively evaluated also by those states which are not members).

ISO certifications are an important instrument both to show a company reliability in comparison to competitors, but also to stimulate a constant improvement during business processes so that ISO requirements are constantly met.

For this reason, PARTEC obtained two important certifications: ISO 9001 and 9100.
ISO 9001 (2015): it is about the creation, implementation and management of a quality management system, meaning the whole set of politics, processes, procedures and documents according to which the company realises products and services. ISO 9001 allows clients to know immediately the professionalism of the supplier they are dealing with.
ISO 9001 deals with a quality management system valid for all the companies regardless the sector they belong. However, certifications that are more specific can be achieved in order to meet required standard useful in a determined sector.

ISO 9100 (2016) deals with quality management systems specifically designed for the aviation and defence market. Standards are set by the International Aerospace Quality Group and leverage on risk management and constant improvement, considering quality and precision required, too.

Thank to ISO 9001 and 9100, PARTEC shows to be a reliable partner in the rapid prototyping sector and a specialised company in such a competitive and delicate field as the aviation.
